Waiting Room Library Project
What is the Waiting Room Library?
The waiting room library project aims to provide free picture books to community organisations and waiting rooms across the province. The goal of this project is to increase awareness, understanding and respect for diversity in our local communities. The library focuses on the use of picture books as learning tools for all ages, and aims to be accessible to families and adult learners with diverse reading and language levels. Books provided will cover a range of topics on diversity and inclusion. A limited number of French and Spanish books are available, with priority to organisations serving French and Spanish speaking clients.
How do I participate?
Please send an email to kels@peersalliance.ca if you would like to participate in this free project. There is no cost to participate in this project. Participating organisations will each receive 5 free picture books to place in their waiting rooms or office space. We ask that books be placed in a space where they are accessible to the public. As our funding is limited, participation is on a first-come first-serve basis.
